Geochemistry Technical Platform groups together UMR’s geochemical preparation, separation and analysis equipment.
Each component is under direct responsibility of a scientific referent and a technical manager. This platform offers a wide range of micro-analytical techniques. These facilities are open to all UMR’s scientific projects, depending on their specific thematic focus and under responsibility of scientific referents.

ISOTOP-MTP Geochemistry platform comprises an MC-ICP-MS mass spectrometry room dedicated to isotope analysis (ERC MILESTONE project), and a clean room for chemical separation of elements prior to analysis.

Nuclear spectrometry is dedicated to Quaternary Geochronology and Environmental Geochemistry, using natural radionuclides in U and Th chains (radioactive imbalances) or artificial radionuclides (137Cs).

Mass spectrometry dedicated to rare gases is basic analytical element for development of geochronology and thermochronology in magmatic and metamorphic domains by 40Ar/39Ar, U-Th/He methods on apatite or zircon. These elements are particularly essential for study of intracontinental deformation.
